“Flu viruses are thought to spread mainly by droplets made when someone with the flu coughs, sneezes or talks. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people nearby. A person also can get flu by touching something that has flu virus on it and then touching their mouth, eyes or nose.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, 2019)
5 Things to incorporate into your daily routine to stop the spread of the flu virus:
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.
- Keep common areas germ free by wiping surfaces down often – don’t forget door knobs!
- Wipe down telephones, walkie-talkies, keyboards, any item that comes in contact with people!
- Have trash receptacles easily accessible for dirty tissues.
- If you are experiencing symptoms of the flu and cannot stay home, try to limit your contact with others as much as possible! No hugs when Kindergarten brings down their lunch folder!!!
